During this Christmas season, I will be writing Advent letters to Jesus. While I hope these aid you, these may mostly be for my benefit, because I often get bogged down in the busyness and buying of the Christmas season. This year we are staying true to simplifying our lives.
How will I be celebrating Jesus this advent? Three ways.
1. I will be reading “The Greatest Gift” by Ann Voskamp and hanging her ornaments on an Advent tree, which she calls the Jesse tree. This is a daily devotional reading plan that traces the lineage of Jesus.
2. I plan to follow the readings on the Story Warren with my kids, which also have ornaments. Here’s a post about it, but the actual guide will not be posted until Friday. I plan to hang these ornaments on the same tree I hang the Greatest Gift ornaments.

I will be writing my letters in real time, and I hope to focus on a key word and the reason why Christ came so that the Christmas story is retold as I write Him letters.
