Today I am linking up with Five Minute Friday: mess.
It used to be that the mess was everywhere, and truth told it still is, but different.
Toddler mess meant playing toys and staying busy entertaining my kids, and the house was left mostly unclean.
The mess was mostly me: a frazzled, harried mom of 3 littles.
Laundry here, laundry there.
Toys here, toys there.
Crumbs – always the crumbs on the counter. I was a little cray cray and frayed.
These days with school age kids the messes are different. Still toys, and my girl leaving her room all askew.
Toilets to clean, and questions. The messy questions – like what do Girl Scouts spend their money on that we don’t believe in?
Food on the floor under the table still. But I play less and clean more, so despite messes made, physically they are fewer.
The mess is still me though – my heart pitter patters and thumps soft as I keep folding and unfolding into me.

Jamie, Some day those messes will be gone, and you will treasure the memories 🙂 Nicely written. Don’t ever stop playing! Thanks for following my blog. ~Joyce (I’m still cleaning up messes, my own.)

Thank you, Joyce. I don’t plan to stop playing!! It’s too fun. 😉 I just play less because of school.

Hi, Jamie! This is my first “Five Minute Friday” and yours was the post before mine, so I wanted to come by and leave you a little note of encouragement First, your writing is beautiful. Truly poetic. Second, the last line will stick with me today. Folding and unfolding – a picture of our journey with God. May you be blessed!
