I hope to update you on Rooted and have another post for the series to share with you soon. But today I wanted to share with you three songs that have been speaking to me. Be sure to watch the first two as they are also videos. The third one is a worship song, and they all tie together. I hope each song helps you as you decide how to place things and people in your life – up or down. Know that God lifts you up today, and I hope these songs will be used to do so. 🙂
This song speaks about building idols. As you know, I shared with you about my own idols, so this song has repeatedly reminded me of how I do not want to build more. John Waller’s, “As for Me and My House:”
I was searching for the third song I’m going to share with you, when I found this one. It reminded me of the idols again and especially of my struggle with people pleasing. The Afters’, “Lift Me Up.”
But lastly, God helped me find this one, when I was about to thrown in the towel on searching for it. It is a worship song about surrender. Funny, huh? I reminds me of the freedom I have because of Him. I lay down the struggle and accept His grace. Chris Tomlin’s “White Flag.”
