Well, last year I linked up with the Nester for books I read in 2011, so this year I thought I would make a list of the books I read in 2012. Friends, want to share your favorite books of 2012? I’d love to hear what you read as well.

- Getting It Together, an ebook by Kayse Pratt
- Socks for Christmas by Andy Andrews
- Mended by Angie Smith
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling
In the middle of Reading:
- Scared by Tom Davis
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling
Books I started reading this year but for various reasons never finished:
- Give Them Grace: Dazzling Your Kids with the Love of Jesus by Elyse Fitzpatrick
- The Fitting Room by Kelly Minter
- The Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges
- Fields of the Fatherless by Tom Davis
- Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott
- Chasing Silhouettes by Emily Wierenga
- Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (previously read)
2012 was a year of leisure reading, which if I am honest, is more my style in the first place. I could not pick a “favorite” if I tried as all of them were my favorites at the time I was reading them, but as you can see, I love to read trilogies. I especially loved reading K. B. Hoyle’s books, as she is a local author that goes to church with me.
Bible Studies Read and Completed:
- James: Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore
- Nehemiah: A Heart that Can Break by Kelly Minter
- Malachi: A Love that Never Fails by Lisa Harper
Again, I love to study the bible, and I love in-depth studies. I really respect each of these bible teachers, but I have to say the James study was my favorite, but the other two are close beside.
What books did you read in 2012?

i’ve been curious abut fitzpatrick’s give them grace, too. and you know, if i were ever to make a list, they’d all be in the category of “books i’m in the middle of” b/c it’s been many, many yrs since i read cover to cover. and since i’ve had the privilege of becoming a mom, i haven’t been able to read much at all. so the combo of those two realities equals a stack of books by my nightstand. the pile remains relatively the same from year to year, but what’s on top as my go-to book will change every once in a while. 😉 the one that’s been on top for the past year is dan allender’s bold love. i’m sure i’ve mentioned it to you before, but i think you’d eat. it. up.

Great list, Jamie! I didn’t tackle as many books as I would’ve liked this year, but reading is my favorite pastime. I thought I’d say that I loved the Hunger Games…much more than the movie, and I went through the James Bible study, too. Hope you’re doing well, friend! Blessings
